My earring hole scabbed over?

Ok so I got my ear pierced and after 2 months my mom said it was okay to take it out. I had pierced my ears before and we did the exact same thing and I've had the ear holes for about 5 years. But now the ear that just got pierced and it was going great until both of them started to scab over. Can someone tell me what to do and what's happening?
