Girls: What would you want a guy to do in a hostile situation?

Depending on the situation, I handle it differently. Sometimes I'll laugh it off and say, "Yeah, you're not telling me anything new." (or something to that effect). Most of the time, I'll just walk away. I work in corrections and deal with stuff like that all the time. I also deal with male coworkers who feel the need to step in and protect me, even though I have the same training they do. In some aspects, its nice, but in others its annoying. Something like that that is just verbal, I'd walk away from. If the guy was being physically disrespectful or put hands on me (and it seemed I couldn't take him one myself), I'd want the guy to step in. Most of the time with guys like that, another male will intimidate them and they'll back off. They get their jollies making women uncomfortable and other men make them uncomfortable.
