Is it normal to love a dog so much?

Perfectly healthy. I love my cats more than anything too, and I think one of them reciprocates. I went away for 8 months for school and he kept throwing hissy fits as I left after reading weeks. My folks said he cried too (how a cat "cries" is beyond me). He completely ignored me for a while once I started settling in for the summer, but now, he cuddles next to me whenever he wants attention. The other one is so dumb, she didn't even notice I was gone. lol
